I’m Tobias Tyler..

I’m a photographer, filmmaker, graphic designer, visual artist and creative, born and raised on the East Side of Des Moines, Iowa.

Also known by my alias ‘borg..’

I’m A self proclaimed Visual Scientist and Storyteller, with my style cultivated from inner calmness, creativity and comprehension. I’ve produced countless meaningful projects from the ground up and been involved from the first step to the last conversation, pulling in motifs of stillness, tranquility, and where I’m from into all facets of my artistic process.

Working hand in hand with my community, I serve as a teaching artist for the Des Moines Art Center teaching classes and workshops about photography, graphic design and filmmaking.

Through my own personal practice, my gravitation towards the sky and clouds has always been synonymous to pausing, looking forward and taking in the environment around you. With photographs mixed with illustrations, films of rolling clouds and self produced soundscapes, my work invites viewers to explore each detail within the clouds, the playfulness of the illustrations and how they both combine to form a balance.

The sky forms, moves and changes. With everyday a new cloud forms in the space above. The essence of every cloud is beautiful, unique, formidable and open to evolution. just like us. "it's an evolution of an everyday process"
